PQ^2 is a calculation that helps tool designers estimate the most efficient gate size for a specific die casting component, being cast in a specific die casting machine.  PQ^2 is an extremely useful designing tool, which can also be used to help troubleshoot die casting issues such as excessive gas porosity and surface cold shuts, helping determine the root cause of these defects.

Once information on the die casting machine and die casting component is received, Eastern Alloys can perform PQ^2 calculations to help determine die casting quality issues, or help define the most efficient gate size for a new die casting tool.  PQ^2 training is also available for those die casting engineers that are interested in learning how to use this tool for themselves!
